Kevin Grass

2017 Live Like Josh Seidel Engineering Scholarship Recipient

Kevin Grass is from Ballwin, MO and is majoring in Civil Engineering at the University of Missouri with an anticipated graduation date of May, 2019.

With an older sister at Mizzou while he was in grade school, Kevin grew up attending football games and has always been a big Tigers fan. When it came time to decide where to go to college, Mizzou was an easy choice for him. Having always preferred math and science in school, choosing a major was an easy decision for him as well. In addition to being a naturally talented problem solver, Kevin’s mom’s family owns a masonry business so he’s been surrounded by construction and the concepts of engineering ever since he was a kid. Civil Engineering seemed to be a great fit.

When he’s not busy studying or learning the family business, Kevin enjoys attending Mizzou football tailgates, sorority philanthropy games and events, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also enjoys spending time with his fraternity brothers. When he graduates Kevin dreams of spending a little time traveling Europe.

Kevin has perspective beyond his years and a great outlook. When we asked him how he’ll define success when looking back on his life in 50 years he said, “In the end with me it all comes down to family. Success to me isn’t how much money you make, how big of a house you live in, or what kind of car to drive. Success is how happy you are as a family. Obviously, it is a bonus to have disposable money for fun things with your family, but in the grand scheme of things as long as I’m part of a happy family, I will consider myself successful.”

As of Fall 2018:

I’m currently a senior studying Civil Engineering. I recently took a Co-op with ARCO Construction in St. Louis during the spring 2018 semester and will be graduating in December of 2019. I plan to continue my career path in project management for a general contractor and look forward to what’s ahead.
