2019 Spirit of Sigma Chi Scholarship Recipient
Joe Pedrotti is a junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Bishop Miege High School in Roeland Park, KS and played football, basketball, and ran track and field. He was a part five State Championship teams in football and basketball. While in high school Joe served the community by volunteering at the Don Bosco Center and went to a mission trip in Chicago. He was also a Kansas Honor Scholar and a Kansas City Star Student-Athlete nominee. While at Mizzou he enjoys golfing and playing intramural flag football and basketball in his free time.
As of Fall 2019: I am currently on my 2nd/3rd semester serving as Magister (Pledge Educator) for Sigma Chi. I am also a member of Engineers Without Borders which is currently designing a water well system to pump fresh water to a community in Ecuador. After graduating in December 2021, I am looking to use my engineering experience to eventually become an engineering or project manager.
The Spirit of Sigma Chi Scholarship is an incredible honor. Everyone I’ve met at the foundation is amazing and they honor Josh everyday by living his motto, “Work Hard. Play Hard. Help Others.” They work hard at providing opportunities to many different people while having fun doing it, and I am excited to become more involved.
